After Completion Of Beta Testing In India, Whatsapp Launches Digital Payment In Brazil

Whatsapp payments are enabled by Facebook Pay

Soon after the Beta trial testing in India, Whatsapp has launched the digital payment mode in the new update of Whatsapp in Brazil.

WhatsApp has launched Digital Payment In Brazil after testing a beta version in India, WhatsApp announced in the Blog Post. The digital payments are enabled by Facebook Pay, Which is the parent company of WhatsApp and It would be rolling out to other apps Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and now in WhatsApp. 

Company Said that We have rolled out this feature to Brazil and very soon we will launch this to everyone.It also said that it is an open model so it will allow it to add more partners in the near future. 

There will be no kind of fee for customers to use it but merchants have to pay a processing fee to receive payment.User have to link their debit or credit card to their WhatsApp account and transactions will be made either through fingerprint or a Six-digit PIN. Company also mentioned that it will support debit or credit card from Nubank, Sicredi and Banco do Brasil and with brazialian payment processor Cielo. 

First WhatsApp tested the Payments features in India in around 2018. It was available in Beta version since the last two years and there were rumours that WhatsApp will launch this feature in May. Also some reports found that The National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) granted permission to WhatsApp to start its Payment services in India in a phased manner.  Facebook has already made collaboration with Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and ICICI bank to make this feature available in India.
