Apple’s macOS Big Sur Is Now Available To Download

Apple has officially released the latest version of macOS named as macOS Big Sur which is also known as macOS 11.0, Available to download now assuming you have a compatible Mac.

Big Sur is one of the biggest updates for Apple’s Desktop and laptop software in years.

The new updates with top to bottom redesign of the user interface, iCons, Menu Bar, A New control center UI and widgets borrowed from iOS and a variety of other improvements.

It is a big change that Apple is moving from the OS X/ OS 10 branding which has been Macs for almost 20 years. 

Apart from this, There are some new privacy-focused features like better tracking information in Safari and new privacy data in the Mac app store for downloading any apps from the store.

Big Sur is not only giving exciting features to existing Macs but it will be available for Apple’s newly announced M1 powered MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac Mini computers which released on 17th November.

Apple has also stated that it is specifically optimised Big Sur to run on those new, ARM-based systems which will offer a major feature which is not found on the Intel versions: The ability to run iPad and iOS apps.

iMac (2014 and later)

Mac mini (2014 and later)

MacBook (2015 and later)

iMac Pro (2017 and later so almost all models)

The devices which are running on macOS catalina will also get updates of Big Sur which includes 2012 MacBook Airs, Mid 2012 and early 2013 MacBook Pros, Mac Minis from 2012 and 2013, iMacs from 2012 and 2013.
